India-1

India – 1

The ship docked in Chennai. I was here 29 years ago when the city was named Madras. It is so fascinating to be back! The tourism bureau has coined the phrase, “Incredible India!” The experience of India is so difficult to articulate that we just keep quoting that phrase to explain that we can’t explain.

India is a still a place that makes you come face to face with humanity. It’s like coming home to the human race.

  1. Hi Merne,
It's so nice to see your faces in photos with such exotic backdrops. Sad to hear about your fellow traveller, I hope she pulls through. As we make Steamboat plans we are already missing you, but realizing that you'll be back in another month or so, incredible! I'm predicting some sort of major work change after you arrive home from your adventure, am I correct?

  2. Hi all! Good to hear from you. We just got some better news from the student's Dad in India so maybe all of the energy is working. We await further details.

The major change at work? I'll be much more motivated by the debt that I'm incurring! I'll also have much more worldly statistical motivations for mathematical inquiry.
